Zambia & Zimbabwe: Mighty Rivers

Zambezi
The Zambezi is one of Africa’s great rivers. It rises in the mountains of Angola and flows out into the hot waters of the Indian Ocean, in Mozambique, cutting diagonally across the entire continent. In Zambia you meet it at the Victoria Falls, where its abundant waters, dropping over one hundred meters, display an incredible spectacle of vapour and light.
Following its course...
Following its course, you come to the region of the Lower Zambezi, here herds of animals arrive at sunset to drink and families of elephants swim from one bank to the other, with only their trunks above the water.
Small plumes of white smoke...
Small plumes of white smoke give away the presence of villages and the verandas of elegant lodges face out over the banks, enjoying a spectacular view of life on the river. From the awakening of the savannah till the arrival of nightfall, continuously changing lights reflect on the sparkling surface in constant movement.
Luangwa
The Luangwa is one of the major tributaries of the Zambezi, a liquid snake running from the north to the south of the country. Its waters, more or less abundant depending on the rains, flow gently, caressing large banks of white sand inhabited by crocodiles and hippos resting in the sun.
South Luangwa
South Luangwa is a natural paradise where herds of giraffes, buffaloes and elephants live peacefully, providing an opportunity for splendid safaris, both on foot and in four wheel drives. What makes these two regions even more particular is the charm of the accommodation, recently transformed into some of the most exclusive and refined in the entire continent.
