Tanzania: Lake Tanganyika

Along the west border...
Along the west border of Tanzania, marked by the deep fissures of the Rift Valley, extends the lake with the deepest waters in the world: Lake Tanganyika.
One reaches it by plane, landing on the only grass runway next to the Mahale Mountains. There are no roads, to reach the lodge you have to climb aboard a typical boat made of rough solid wood.
Navigate along the coast
You navigate along the coast, where giant trees dive into the blue waters, on the far bank the unexplored forest of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Around the straw roofs of the fascinating Greystoke buildings, hidden by the luxuriant vegetation, streams and vines, friendly families of chimpanzees live undisturbed.
trekking
The treks to discover these fascinating primates are marvellous and emotional. In the evening, after dinner, you are lulled to sleep by the sound of water lapping on the sandy shore.
