History of Mozambique

The legendary coast

The legendary Mozambique coast, frequented by Arab slave merchants, and the Portuguese who built their fortifications and splendid cities. Ilha de Moçambique, today a protected Unesco site, sleepy and abandoned, reveals the mysteries of those ancient times… in the narrow streets children play, oblivious of the ghosts of their history.

To the south

To the south, there are long strips of white sand of the Bazaruto Archipelago, a favourite destination for escaping from the Northern hemisphere cold winters. Almost on the border with Tanzania, thirty little islands, the Quirimbas, are a paradise of clear waters and coloured fish.

Each one...

Each one has its own lodge, with few bungalows, so as to always offer maximum privacy and seclusion. Ideal for a honeymoon or for a relaxing stop before a hot safari, these islands are wonderful all year round.
